Pump head
“Yang Cheng” refers to the height to which a water pump lifts water. It is commonly represented by the English letter H and expressed in meters (M) or other units of length. The strict definition of Yang Cheng is: the increase in energy per unit weight of liquid after passing through the water pump. It is well known that the energy of a liquid can take several forms, namely potential energy, kinetic energy, and pressure energy. In the production and use of agricultural drainage pumps, the most common is the increase in the water's potential energy; for example, lifting water from below to a certain height in a channel increases its potential energy.

Basic points for selecting a water pump
The selection of pumps is crucial in building water supply and drainage design. The selection of water supply pumps, sewage pumps, and fire pumps should consider various factors, including the characteristics of each system, pump parameters, and maintenance.

What are the types of water pumps?
A pump station refers to a water pumping system composed of electromechanical equipment centered around a pump and supporting buildings. A pump cannot operate alone; it needs to be part of a complete pumping device that includes a power machine, transmission equipment, pipelines, and various auxiliary and control devices. To ensure the normal operation of electromechanical equipment and management personnel, and to provide good water flow conditions for the safe and efficient operation of the pump, various supporting buildings such as pump houses, water intake structures, and power distribution facilities need to be constructed, thus forming a hub for pump station engineering. Pump stations can be roughly classified based on their different characteristics.
Introduction to Various Types of Water Pumps
Other pumps refer to special pumps other than blade pumps and positive displacement pumps. The main types of other pumps include: screw pumps, jet pumps (also known as water jet pumps), gear pumps, turbine pumps, and air lift pumps (also known as air lifting machines). Among these pumps, except for screw pumps which use the principle of screw propulsion to increase the energy of the liquid, the other pumps utilize the kinetic energy of high-speed liquid or gas flow (i.e., high-speed jets) to transport liquids.
Definition of a water pump
A pump is a hydraulic machine that converts energy. It transforms the mechanical energy of a prime mover (such as a motor) into the kinetic and potential energy of a liquid, achieving the purpose of transporting and elevating the liquid.
